FAQs

What is Joint Military Cadets of America?

A non-profit youth exploration program for youth ages 11-17 around the country, exposing them to what career opportunities are in the military and providing them first-hand knowledge and experience in the many military occupational skills.

Is there a military obligation upon completion?

No.  There is no military obligation associated with our program.  However, there are incentives (such as advanced rank) for those cadets interested in pursuing a military career.

Is this a boot camp for delinquent youth?

No.  The Joint Military Cadets of America holds youth, and adult, members to high ethical and moral standards consistent with those of the U.S. military.  Cadets are also expected to maintain an acceptable collegiate grade point average and participate in community/civic advancement projects.

When are activities held?

Units have battle assembly one weekend each month and cadets have the option to attend annual training through the national program during the summer.

Where are activities held?

Units are housed at local military installations, Reserve Centers, and National Guard Armories.

How do I sign myself/my child up?

The cadet and adult applications can be printed from the ‘Forms' page.  Once completed, applications should be returned to a staff member.  Contact information can be found at the bottom of this page.  For more information, you can complete the online form on the Recruiting  page.
